The Isle of Wight

Osborne House, Cowes Week, Tennyson, The Needles, IOW Rock Festival, Blackgang Chine, Queen Victoria – The Isle of Wight has many famous figures and fine attributes. It used to be fashionable to say that the island was caught in a time warp – a throwback to the 1950’s. That just isn’t the case anymore with excellent hotels and restaurants available and ever improving transport links to the mainland. The new Hindhead tunnel on the A3 has made driving the 70 miles from London so much easier. What is so special about the island is once you get on the ferry you not only leave the mainland behind, but you feel like you are on a really worthwhile journey. Travelling to somewhere a little bit different but with so much to offer – and that includes the shooting.

What many people don’t know is how much shooting is available on the Isle of Wight. There are over 40 pheasant shoots including some celebrated ones at Bowcombe and Rowborough.  The Kern Simulated Shoot is delighted to be based on this fantastic island with all it has to offer. We look forward to welcoming you.
